When it comes to the Chow Chow, we believe they are really good dogs. There are some individuals out there who will go against us, but honestly, if you train the Chow Chow correctly and give the dog all the attention they need, they will be perfect. If you neglect the dog and just let it run wild, then the pet will not turn out too good. We are a firm believer that the dogs personality has a lot to do with the master (that’s you). The Chow Chow dog breed has been put in the Non-Sporting group classification and this is done by the American Kennel Club. In China, the Chow Chow was being used for hunting, and then they arrived in England by way of the Asian sailors.

Chow Chows are not that big of dogs, they can range anywhere from forty five to seventy pounds and are about twenty two inches in height. The Chow Chow has a coat that is very thick and they come in the colors blue, black, cinnamon, red and cream. However, the red Chow Chow is one of the most common colors. They also have a tongue that is black in color with a bluish tint. When you get a Chow Chow that has a blue tongue, you should know that it is completely normal and there is no reason to be concerned about the color of the tongue. Don’t forget that curling tail the chow chow has, the curly tail is really cute and it curls up to the back.
